Cookies

Cookies are small files that a site or its service provider transfers to your computers hard drive through your Web browser (if you allow) that enables the sites or service providers systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information

We use cookies to help us remember and process the items in your shopping cart, understand and save your preferences for future visits and compile aggregate data about site traffic and site interaction so that we can offer better site experiences and tools in the future.

If you prefer, you can choose to have your computer warn you each time a cookie is being sent, or you can choose to turn off all cookies via your browser settings. Like most websites, if you turn your cookies off, some of our services may not function properly.

The Information We Gather

When you visit Stitchboard.com ("cookies") may be used. We gather traffic patterns and site usage information such as browser type, referring URL, and IP address, to help us develop the design and layout of the site and to personalize your visit. This information is not linked to any personally identifiable information about you. As a standard practice, we assign a random number to each user to anonymously track traffic patterns. This random number lets us keep track -- on an aggregate basis -- of how many times customers are doing specific things, like visiting our site each month, without specifically knowing who those customers are. This random number is kept in a file on your computer and is called a "cookie."

Cookies are also used on our website to allow you to log in to the membership area faster. Cookies, by themselves, cannot be used to determine the identity of any user. Unless you specifically tell us, we will not know who you are. We do not distribute or share any information with others.

To set up a membership, you are asked to provide a unique user ID and password, your name, and your email address.

Stitchboard.com also conducts voluntary surveys from time to time to help us identify visitor interests, and to allow for delivery of information that will be most useful to you. Information collected on viewer surveys may be shared with third parties to illustrate, on an aggregate basis only, profiles of the website users, but we will not individually identify you.

Stitchboard.com is always trying to provide you with a compelling reason to return to our site. We monitor visitor traffic patterns and try to analyze what you like and don't like about our site, so that we can enhance certain, higher-trafficked areas.

We also may use this information in conjunction with generally available marketing databases so that we better understand our visitors and can tailor our services and content to meet your needs and preferences. This information is for Stitchboard.com use only and is never shared with third parties. We will not share your personal information with any third party without first receiving your permission, unless we believe in good faith that the law or professional duty requires it.

Stitchboard.com will contact you by email when you register for membership, to respond to any questions you may send us, and in response to an email subscription you may request through the website. We use email links on most pages of our website to allow you to contact us directly with any questions or comments you may have. We read every message sent in. Due to the volume of email sent, we may not be able to respond to every one. The information you send is used to respond directly to your questions or comments. We may also file your comments to improve the site, or review and discard the information. Your personal information will not be shared with third parties without your explicit permission.

Regarding our online subscription mailing lists, it is our policy to send email to the subscribers who explicitly requested to be placed on such lists. In every such email message, we will also have instructions on how to unsubscribe so that you will not receive any such messages from us in the future, if you do not wish to. When you register for membership with Stitchboard.com, you have the option to receive email with information which we think you will find useful, including announcements about new services from us. If you decide, at any time later that you would rather not receive such email, simply visit the "Edit My Profile" area of the membership home page to change your preferences. Here you can also review, correct, update, or delete personal information that you provide to us at any time.

Stitchboard.com provides public forums for our visitors to read and share information with other individuals. Disclosing personally identifiable information online through chat rooms, forums, and message boards makes the information submitted public information. Please be careful and use discretion when disclosing any information in such a public forum.

By using the Stitchboard.com website and the services available to you on the site, you consent to our collection of your personally identifiable information as described in this Privacy Policy. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will notify you directly if there is a material change in our privacy practices. We will take commercially reasonable measures to obtain written or active e-mail consent from you if we are going to be using the personally identifiable information collected from you in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection.

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or the rights of others, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.
